4/15/08 Entry #3
So...Jackie got her snow allright. She sat on the plane for an hour at the airport while they de-iced the wings twice. When she finally made it to SLC...same problem. I think she's due to fly home around 8pm. Hee hee. I've been teasing her without mercy (she has nothing else to do but phone everyone she knows while she's stuck at the airport). I keep telling her "Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!" She's a good sport.
Bill's check up went really well yesterday. His pain is down remarkably. Down...not gone. He can go back to work 2/3 time. He still can't do any heavy lifting, but at least he can get out of the house for a few hours a day. That alone is doing WONDERS for his attitude. The doctor has scheduled another check up next Monday. He doesn't plan to do anymore cortizone shots for a week or two after that.
I'm not going to his check up next Monday, because that's my first day back at work. If he'd been getting cortizone again, I'd have postponed it. I thought about going back to work tomorrow. I mean, I thought about it for about 3 seconds. Then I remembered how exhausted I am. I'll spend this week getting the house in order and relaxing. I'm paid through the 21st so I might as well take the time.
Shelby's new kitten, Salem (she's completely black) is fitting in nicely. One of the great things about adopting from the Humane Society is they don't let them be adopted until after they're spayed. And the volunteers spend a lot of with them. Salem is very affectionate and completely unafraid of the dogs. She laid down next to Pepper today. He growled the entire time, but she cuddled up to him like she didn't have a care in the world.
Bill is downstairs watching Cops. Shelby & Jacob are are just hanging out. I'm going to do some net surfing and watch some TV.
Ah! Sigh of peace.
