Yesterday was one of "those" days.
Trying to get ready for work, I felt like I was plowing through molasses. EVERYTHING took longer than normal. Added to that, I managed to add a few unexpected chores to my morning.
Shelby had a pretty severe allergic reaction to something Sunday night. In order to narrow down the testing she'll have to endure, we had to dig through the garbage for the cans/containers of what I cooked for dinner that night (beef stroganoff.)
While I was washing out one of the cans, I SLICED open my hand. Not deep enough for stiches, just enough to BLEED through three bandaids. One after another.
After advice from Shelby and her boss at the doggy day care, I gave Princess a scrambled egg in the morning to fatten her up. It takes her FOREVER to eat it. We have to watch her to make sure she doesn't choke.
I'd forgotten that I'd thawed a pot roast to crock pot cook for dinner.
These little things added up to me being ENORMOUSLY stressed by the time I got to work.
THEN, my husband calls me to add to my stress. (That's his gift. He can SENSE when I'm stressed and calls me with his "doom and gloom" over things I have no control over.)
MH & I decided it was a good day to avoid our desks and computer by cleaning out our files and packing away what we don't need. I also made new files and folders. It was the kind of mindless activity I needed. Now our filing cabinets have so much more room.
I might even do my (months worth of) filing today.
Maybe.
