Sometimes I piss people off. I don't MMEEAANN (insert whiny voice) to. Apparently, it's a gift.

This "end of the year" saga has been especially stressful. Very few things are flowing. It's been a continual stop and start, like traffic on the 405 at 8am. I am a finisher...I like to begin and end one thing before I start another. This stop and start thing has made my head sore. For the last two weeks, my day at work begins at 7am and I'm lucky if I'm home by 5pm.

Bill is also going through an especially stressful time with his business.

The end result has been a war of "who is more stressed." We've been short and snippy with each other. This is VERY rare as we hardly ever fight. (We're both too lazy and easy going to get into a real fight.)

Yesterday I'd had enough. When he called and and then snapped at me when I asked him a question, I told him "we've GOT to stop being pissy with each other. Both of us are stressed and frustrated. We need to remember that the WE are not the ones we're frustrated by and angry at. We only have each other. We need to be NICE to each other. I'll be nicer to you and you be nicer to me." He agreed and we were fine.

Two hours later...I had a gorgeous bouguet of pink roses delivered to my desk. The card read "In spite of that goes on around us, you are my everything. I love you."

Fight over.

When my co-workers asked why he sent me flowers (waiting with baited breath for some story including some good hairy gossip) I simply replied "We had a spat."

A few people said they were going to go home and have a spat with their spouse, so they could get roses too.

Several unhappy people chose to be OFFENDED. One person said to me "You got roses for a SPAT? We have knock down drag out FIGHTS and I'm lucky to get an apology."

So, without doing anything but working on my marriage...I managed to really piss of about a half dozen people. Like I said, it's a gift.

Life is too short to fight about it. Love is too short in supply to mess with what you've got. You won't have any blessings to count if you toss them out.

And that, my dear friends is my little bit of knowledge for the day. Go forth and have a fantastic Friday. Love those that will let you. Try to love those who won't let you.

Go!
