The good news:
Yesterday at 4:07pm, we finished entering our final payroll for year end!!!!!! We didn't stick around to see if it balanced. Somethings you just don't do on a Friday afternoon.
On Monday, we'll check and print it.
On Tuesday, we'll go through the piles of work we've been ignoring as we process end of year.
I have about a dozen unemployment claims to process. I inherited this duty, in addition to the fingerprinting process this year. I have been warned that next year I'll also be taking over the Sick Leave donation committee AND the Adult Ed paperwork. It's the way things are when budgets get tight. You do more duties for the same amount of money.
On Wednesday, MH & several other co-workers leave for a conference in Billings. There will be 4 us of left to cover the office for the rest of the week.
Sweet! I can play my music as loud as I want. I can eat at my desk! I can work on what I want to work on, when I want to work on it. It'll be like vacation...except I'll be inside and working.
MH & I are supposed to take turns going to this annual conference. Two years ago we both went. Last year she went. I talked her into going again this year. I'd rather have a root canal than attend a three day conference.
This conference consists of 8-10 hour days of non-stop lectures. MH LOVES these kind of things. I LOVE having our office to myself. ;o)
It's a win-win thing!
