July is "Visit Casa de Carolyn" month.
Mike & Lindsay were here for the 4th of July weekend.
Bill's nephew arrived last Thursday and will be here for two weeks. Bill is helping him study for his CDL. He lives in Las Vegas. He considered going to a driving school ($3000!) when he discovered it was much more economical to come here. He's one of the best house guests I've ever had. Easy going, easy to be with. Yay!
Shelby's friend R arrived from Idaho yesterday for a visit until Thrusday. Another EASY house guest!
I cooked a HUGE ham yesterday, we all ate and there are plenty of leftovers for sandwiches. I'm sure I've shared with with you before, but it honestly is the best ham I've ever made. You simply put your ham in the crockpot and pour a can of C0ke over it. Cook it on low all day and...TA DA! It's moist and VERY flavorful. We like to pour the juices over the meat (and well, everything else on the plate.)
MH is on vacation for another week and a half. I'm so enjoying having the office to myself. Especially since my house is full to the point of overflowing.
The only down side to any of this has been the weather. It's been quite cool and rainy. We're all loving it, because instead of worrying about fires in the local forests, we're enjoying the local greenery. My nephew however...is freezing to death. He's come from the hot desert (temps over 100) to morning and evening temps in the 50's and daytime in the low 70's. We're all running around in shorts and t-shirts. He's living in jeans and a sweatshirt.
A old friend of mine (we worked together almost 10 years ago) called me last night. I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer the call. Later when I was playing with my phone, I deleted the number. Only after I did that, did I realize that I had a voice mail. She lives in Denver and is driving through today to visit her parents. She wanted to stop and see me. She didn't leave her new number on the message. I could just shake myself for being so stupid. I hope she calls again. I frantically looked for her email address. Yeah...it's changed too.
Hey! I just remembered that she sometimes IM's me. I'm going to see if I can get her address that way.
