Today is my, I mean MH"S last day of vacation. ;o)

She is an outwardly stressed person (when she's stressed, everyone around her reaps the benefits.) Before she left, she messed up one of the quarterly reports.

She tried several times to get me to fix it. I looked at it and would have gladly fixed it, but it was messed up to the point that I had no idea what to do.

So she pawned it off on another co-worker, who spent HOURS on it. She couldn't fix it either, but did manage to track down the cause of the error. She gave it to MH to fix.

Ahhh. There's the rub. MH not only didn't fix it, she (literally, as she walked out the door to begin her vacation) gave it to the district clerk to check it for mailing. The DC simply checks the math and proofreads it. She did so and gave it to me to type and mail.

I typed it and prepared to mail it. Alas, the check that I wanted to print to go with it was...TENS of thousands of dollars off!

I went to the co-worker who'd (I thought) fixed it for MH. She was TICKED. She gave me a Reader's Digest version of what had happened. I asked "Why is this a problem in the SECOND quarter?" She told me it had been a problem in the FIRST quarter too and she'd fixed that report, but MH continued to input the information incorrectly so the second quarter was royally screwed up.

I laid the file on MH's desk and told co-worker "I'm just leaving this here. If you want to work on it, you know where to find it. I don't have any idea how to fix it and I don't have the time to try to figure it out."

I checked with the DC and explained the problem. She told me to put a note on it that read "Per DC, leave for MH to resolve when she returns."

So...that's what will be waiting for her when she comes in tomorrow morning. She's going to blow a gasket! I would feel sorry for her and might have tried to work on it, if I didn't know that she continued to input things in the 2nd quarter that she knew were wrong.

As it is, I'm just DREADING her return.

But...today I still have my quiet (and clean, did I mention that I cleaned the ENTIRE room) office. I have plenty to keep me busy today and throughout the rest of the week.

When the sighs and the under her breath mumbling (did I mention that MH is the QUEEN of passive aggressiveness?) begins, I'll put on my headphones and lose myself in some of my favorite music.

I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be a Lynard Skynard and My Chemical Romance type of day.
