As is par for the course when I worry myself into a frenzy about something...It was all for naught. MH was lovely and relaxed yesterday. There was no blow-up over the DREADED report. She was not crabby nor bitchy.
If I could get back the time I waste on worrying...I'd be 25 again!
You would think that I'd learn by now.
Ha!
A few weeks ago, a friend sent me a link to a website showing literary quotes as tatoos. One of the quotes came up over and over. Don't laugh, but it "spoke" to me. I'd never heard of the book it was from.
The book is Slaughterhouse Five. The quote is "So it goes."
It became my mission to find this book. I checked with our local library. They didn't have the book, only the audio book. Then I tried the library in Big City. Again, only the audio book. (I'm fairly certain they share the same audio book.) Then I tried B@rnes & Noble, H@stings and the other bookstore (whose name I can never remember since I don't shop there because their service SUCKS.) No dice.
Then I began calling the few used books stores here and in Big City. Again no dice.
What made my search interesting was because EVERY SINGLE person I called responded with the same answer "We don't carry THAT book." Really? Is it so controversial? Now I MUST have it.
I was getting ready to hit ebay, when one of my co-workers asked me "Did you check our high school library? Since you work for the district, you can check books out from it."
I quickly checked online and there it was! I called the high school and made arrangements for someone to let me into the library. I began reading it that day. Ok, truth be told, I began to DEVOUR it that day.
Then life interrupted me and I've not been able to get to it for a few days. That's ok. I have no plans for the weekend.
Other than reading THAT book.
