~ We've pretty much had non-stop company staying here for the last month. Stick a fork in me, because I'm done. Bill's sister Jackie was tentatively planning to come the end of July/beginning of August. I called her and asked her to postpone her visit. We're just burned out. I love having company. I just need a break in between visits.
~ (Caution: TMI) I have another cyst on my left ovary. This has been an ongoing thing for 22 years. I get three or four a year and usually they just cause me a little discomfort. This one has been painful enough to send me to the doctor. She did a quick exam and referred me to the specialist who did my hysterectomy. She's recommending that the ovary be removed. I can't get in until a week from Monday. I know those of you who live in big cities are laughing that I'm complaining about waiting a WEEK for a referral. Note to self: when you're told you have a 5cm cyst on your ovary, do NOT go to work, grab a ruler and see how big 5cm is...because it's big enough to freak you out!
~ Work is going really well. I love doing all the little summer projects. I'm sure I'll get bored soon and be ready for more stressful tasks. ;o)
~ Like almost everyone we know, we're feeling the crunch of the economy. We're luckier than many of our friends, in that we've spent most of our lives living on a tight budget. So we know how and where to cut back. For instance, we haven't been camping once this summer. We just can't justify the expense. We're ok with it. Unlike a friend of mine. She and her family have been camping almost every weekend, like we usually do. She said to me the other night "I still haven't made my JUNE house payment. I don't know what we're going to do." I was dumbfounded! I didn't say anything, because well...her finances are her business. But I wanted to shake her and say "Are you out of your mind?!"
~ I love my nephew who is visiting, I truly do. BUT, he never stops talking. He's a story teller. Not a good story teller, like Yarnsmith. He's a rambling story teller. On and on and on. He was just here and I made the mistake of asking him a question. THIRTY minutes later, he finally quit talking. I have no idea if he answered my question , because the story was so long, I forgot what my question was. ;o)
~ Pepper has quite the doggy sense of humor. He likes to jump from the ottoman to the chair and pretend that he gets stuck with his back legs on the ottoman and his front legs on the chair. Then he'll just look at me. When I reach to help him, he jumps onto the chair. Then he looks at me like he's saying "Psych!" Funny little dog.
~ I suppose I could go do the various chores that are waiting for me. But I'm not going to. It's a lovely 73 degrees outside and I have a great book. I'm going to put the two together and relax.
Happy Saturday to you all!
