Sit down, because this news is going to shock you.
I bring unnecessary stress into my life.
Ok, you can get up now.
It's true though. I swear I'm not going to do it, but every day I do it again.
For instance - every year our office closes for 1-2 days while the custodians clean it from top to bottom. Literally top to bottom. They request that we all take these days off because it is easier for them to clean without us in the way.
This year they are cleaning the last two days of July. This Thursday and Friday. I knew it was coming and purposely saved enough vacation time to cover it. BUT, my brain wasn't happy with that. So I thought "I'll work 3-10's and only have to take 10 hours of vacation." Then I thought "No, I'll work 3-12's. That's even better! Then I only have to take 4 hours of vacation."
Ok people, I can BARELY make it through 8 hours, unless I'm uber busy and focused on a particular task. I am NEVER uber busy in the summer. Yesterday I managed to work 9 hours and could barely stay awake during dinner.
This morning I looked at the clock and began to mentally plan to be at work by 7am. WHY? I have myself a good shaking and told myself "Work your regular schedule and take the damn 16 hours off!"
Yes, I talk to myself. I tend to have one part of the conversation in my head and the other out loud.
