1. I've been hanging out in my dark place this week. Monday we were told that Jeff's best friend is getting married. I'm truly happy for this couple, but it did remind me of all the times we won't get to share with Jeff. Yesterday was a bit better and today I can finally feel myself coming out of it.
2. The administration staff came back to work last Monday. It's been crazy and hectic at work. (Shakes head and rolls eyes) They want everything they want RIGHT NOW. Luckily, we have a great boss, who tells them they'll get what they get, when they get it. ;o)
3. Shelby had her Senior pictures taken yesterday. Starting the 27th, my baby will be a Senior in high school. I really don't want to talk about it. I swear it was just yesterday that she and I were sitting on the living room floor, coloring together.
4. MH and I finally had the blow up that's been brewing. I truly believe that her constant bad moods and complaining had just become a habit. I woke up one day and thought "I'm 46 years old. I am NOT going to spend every work day walking on egg shells so I don't upset her." I called her on it and we discussed it LOUDLY. It was a little awkward for a day or two, but now seems to be ok.
5. I'm tucking this in at the end in the hopes that if you're a stalker, you've quit reading out of boredom.
Yesterday was a historical day for my little town. At noon, we all left the office and walked the few blocks to the local senior center that is located at the end of the runway of our tiny airport.
When Air Force One flew in and touched down, every one applauded. Yes, I live the in the little town in Montana that President Obama visited yesterday. I didn't get to attend the town hall meeting, but our school superindent and high school principal did.
We get a lot of "celebrities" here. Michael Keaton; Ted Turner; Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan had a place near here when they were married. jA lot of movies are filmed here. Montanans tend to be pretty "meh" when it comes to celebrities.
BUT, yesterday was the first time in history that a sitting President of the United States visited Montana. And he came to MY little town!
The protesters were out bright and early. I believe in the right to protest. I believe in the right to say what you think. I've lived in Oklahoma and all over Southern California. I can safely say that Montanans are the LEAST judgemental or racist group of people I've known. Yes, there are some. But, they are the exception, rather than the rule. President Obama did not win the State of Montana in the election. However, everyone I spoke with was excited to have him here and listen to what he had to say.
I found it VERY interesting that many of the protesters were bussed in from other states.
When Air Force One touched down, literally right in front of me (maybe a 1/2 a football field away) I had goosebumps and tears in my eyes.
That's all I have to say about that.
