Having spent the last 3 weekends in camping euphoria, yesterday was a back to reality day.
I mopped floors. I vaccumed carpets. I scrubbed surfaces that had only been periodically wiped down. I washed curtains and rugs. I even mananged to re-hang the curtains.
Last night I realized I'd re-hung them upside down. I sighed and said "I'll fix them tomorrow.
Chances are VERY good that they will remain upside down for 6 months until I wash them again.
I cleaned out my closet and made a list of items I'll need for winter. OCD much?
When everything else was finished, I washed one load of laundry and discovered that we were out of dryer sheets. The thought of getting into the car and running to the store for them required more energy than I could muster.
Today I'll finish the laundry, mow the lawns and shop for groceries.
About this time, you should be asking yourself "doesn't she live with her husband and 2 teenage daughters?" Yes. Yes I do.
They are all 3 great about helping with the upkeep. Bill does 99% of our laundry, but he is working non-stop this weekend.
The deep cleaning is my thing. Spring cleaning and fall cleaning are something my Grama did, so I do it.
This afternoon, I will sit in my chair. I'll look around at the very clean house and enjoy it for the few moments before we begin to trash it again. ;o)
